Microchipping

Microchipping is a way of identifying your pet if they get lost. The chip contains a registration number that is recorded with the microchip company. This registration includes the owner’s contact information so that when your pet is found, they can be returned to you quickly.

Why is it a good idea to microchip my dog?

It is a very reliable way to reconnect you and your dog if they are missing and taken to a shelter or animal clinic/hospital. Most shelters and animal hospitals have protocols in place where they scan found dogs and can contact you quickly.

How does microchipping work and is it safe for my dog?

Microchipping is a small chip placed under the skin that can be scanned with a microchip scanner. This scanner reads the chip which has a registration number that has your contact information.

Microchip placement is safe. The chip placement can be performed on your dog with or without sedation or general anesthesia. We do offer this service with any procedure requiring sedation or general anesthesia at a reduced cost.
